Kacey Musgraves and Texas Charity T-shirt troll Ted Cruz

After the winter storm Uri struck, thousands of Texas residents still lack water, heat and electricity, Kacey Musgraves devised a stylish way to raise lone stars State aid funds-while digging a hole Senator Ted Cruz’s decision to escape with his family to Cancun, Mexico.
The 32-year-old Grammy Award winner (who grew up in Golden, Texas) announced that she intends to sell “Cruzin’ for Bruzin’ charity T-shirts” on Twitter on Thursday afternoon, and joked: “The link is coming soon. Don’t run away anywhere…”
Faithful to her words, a few hours later, Musgraves shared a link to a white Ringer t-shirt that can be shopped, and wrote on Twitter: “Texas is cold, I can be cold”-play her Lyrics of the song “Slow Burning”.
The profit from the $29.99 tee will open on Sunday, and it will directly support Texans in need through many charities: Feed The People Dallas, Casa Marianella and Central South Texas American Red Cross.
On Friday morning, Musgraves revealed that she had raised $50,000. She told fans: “Life gave us lemons. To be honest, I just drink lemonade innocently here.”
Cruz, 50, has come under fire for his decision to fly to Mexico during the state’s historic winter weather crisis.
According to a report in the Dallas Morning News, after the Republican congressman attributed the vacation to his young daughter in a statement, he shortened the trip by two days and returned to Houston on Thursday night.
According to a newspaper report, he told reporters outside the airport: “Obviously this was a mistake. I will not do it afterwards.”
